Below you will find our comprehensive cancellation policy, detailing the terms regarding our moving advisory services and agreements with our independent carrier network.
Broker Fee
The fee charged by American Dream Relocation is a broker fee, which compensates us for arranging the services of a fully licensed and insured motor carrier to handle the transportation of your household goods. This broker fee is separate from the actual transportation costs charged by the carrier. By paying this fee, you benefit from our expertise, coordination services, and our trusted network of carriers committed to providing a safe and seamless relocation experience.
Carrier Charges
Carrier charges must be paid C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery) unless prior arrangements are made for payment via credit or debit card. These payments are made directly to the independent carrier in two installments:
First Installment: Due upon pickup of your belongings.
Second Installment: Due upon delivery to your specified destination.
These carrier fees are distinct from the broker fee, as they directly compensate the carrier for the physical moving services rendered.
Cancellation Terms
1. Before Services Begin
You may cancel your move without incurring a penalty within 72 hours of signing your Bill of Lading. During this grace period, the broker fee is fully refundable. We understand that plans can change unexpectedly, and this initial window is designed to accommodate those changes without financial impact to you.
2. After 72 Hours
After the 72-hour grace period following the signing of your Bill of Lading, the broker fee becomes non-refundable. By this point, our team has already started coordinating and planning your move, including securing the necessary carrier resources for your chosen dates.
3. After Service Commencement
Once physical moving services have commenced, cancellations are no longer allowed, and all deposits become non-refundable. This includes situations in which the following services have started:
Packing: The carrier has begun packing your belongings.
Loading: Your items have started to be loaded onto the truck.
Storage: Your belongings are in transit to, or are stored at, a designated storage facility.
Transportation: Your property is en route from the pick-up address or to the delivery address.
This policy aligns with U.S. Code 49 CFR § 375.505(h) to ensure transparency and understanding for all parties involved in the relocation process.
4. Post Loading
Once your belongings have been loaded onto the truck, cancellations are no longer possible, and no refunds will be issued. At this stage, the resources, time, and transportation efforts have been fully committed to your move, and our carrier partners are actively managing your relocation.
Rescheduling Your Move
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may require you to reschedule your move rather than cancel. Should you wish to make changes to your moving dates or details, please contact our team as early as possible. While rescheduling is subject to availability and additional fees, we will work closely with you to accommodate your changing needs within reasonable limits.

After 72 Hours: The broker fee becomes non-refundable once 72 hours have passed following the signing of your bill of lading.
After Service Commencement: In accordance with U.S. Code 49 CFR § 375.505(h), no cancellations are allowed, and all deposits become non-refundable once physical moving services have commenced. This includes, but is not limited to, packing, loading, storage, and transportation of your property to and from the pick-up or delivery address.
Post Loading: Services cannot be canceled, and no refunds will be issued once your property has been loaded onto the truck.
